Greeting folks! I'm back after a long rest. The holiday season is fast approaching and I wanted to post a few records; my time will be limited towards the end of the year.

While searching for a record to post, I stumbled upon this recording. Not much information available. I know its from Venezuela, recorded in 1984 and the vocalist are Larry Francia and Edgar Quijada. Theirs two tracks that I enjoyed. I can say that both tracks are slow Guaguanco ballads with romantic lyrics. Like always...check it out!

I rarely get the opportunity to hold a jewel as this. Originally recorded for RCA Victor Records in Cuba from 1946 to 1947. The original RCA record is extremely valuable because of its musician integration. On piano & leadership is Jose Curbelo who at the tender age of 16 started playing professionally with different bands around Havana. Tito Rodriguez, seen on the cover at a very young age was the undisputed sonero & bolerista of all times. His sense of timing in La Guaracha, La Rumba, and Son Montuno and his velvet smooth approach to the bolero were unequaled. The King of Latin Music, Tito Puente. Outstanding musician, writer, arranger and bandleader was the creative spark and influence to many Latin artist. I can run out space describing this incredible and valuable piece of Latin music history. Listen to these.....

El Conde, my all time favorite vocalist. This is his debut record that was released by Fania in 1974. Vocals include, Adalberto Santiago, Raymond Castro, Roberto Torres and many others. This has to be one of the greatest coro combination's. As many of you know, Pete began as a conga player and eventually Sonero for many years with Johnny Pacheco. Also, became internationally known as one of the greatest voices of Salsa super group, The Fania All-Stars. El Conde had a lustrous career and in my opinion one of the best Sonero's. I want to highlight the following track because of its excellent qualities in vocals, chorus and arrangement.
