This album was recorded in San Francisco, CA. The leader of the band, Rene de La Rosa, had a Spanish language television show named Cabaret del Aire in 1972.(foto on back of LP) I believe one of the lead singers, Ramon Esteves, still performs on occasions. I danced on the show as a teenager with the band and still have my copy of the LP
ReplyDeleteI PLAYED WITH band for 4 years. i'm on the LP. I AM THE CONGERO, AND MY NAMS IS SPELLED WITH AN "S"(TORRES)...ALSO THE PIANO PLAYER IS JIMMY RIOS. RAMON ESTEVES, OR 'MONCHIE' IS STILL SWINGING WITH SOME OF THE LOCAL BANDS.WE DID THE KEMO TV SHOW EVERYY SATURDAY AT 07:00 and thenIA we played at the RADIO CLUB AFTER THE TV SHOW. WE WERE PRIVILIGED TO WORK WITH NTHE GRTAT TITO PUENTE,AND WE ALSO BACKED UP CELIA CRUZ WHENEVER SHE WAS IN THE BAYAREA.
